FAQ
Questions, answered
What is Kinspeople?
Kinspeople is the easiest way to enjoy Toronto with great company. Pick an experience you'd love, like coffee and chat, a walk, language exchange, board games or a museum, and a friendly local, your kinsperson, makes it one to remember. Every experience happens at a public place you see before you book.
Is Kinspeople a dating app?
No. Kinspeople is for friendly, platonic plans: you meet a local at a public place for something you both enjoy.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the experience you choose and how many hours you book, from 1 to 4. Each experience shows its starting price in Canadian dollars, and hosts in the GTA currently charge $34 to $42 an hour. You see the exact total before you send a request, and you're only charged after you meet.
Where do we meet?
At one public place, like a café, library, museum or park. Every booking has a single meeting place, which you see on a map when you request a time. There are no multi-stop plans or rides between places.
How do you keep it safe?
Every activity is linked to a public place on Google Maps, and our team checks anything unclear. Hosts verify a Toronto or GTA mobile number, everyone agrees to the same house rules, chats stay in the app, and you swap PINs when you meet.
How does booking work?
Pick an activity, then choose a day up to 7 days ahead, a start time and a length from 1 to 4 hours. You and the host both agree to the house rules, and the host has 24 hours to accept. On the day, you meet at the public place in your booking and swap PINs to start.
When am I charged?
Only after you meet. Your card is held when you send a request, and you see the exact total before you send it. If the host declines or doesn't reply within 24 hours, the hold is released. The payment goes through once your time together ends and you both leave feedback.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. You can cancel a request or a booking from Bookings in the app. The full cancellation and refund policy will be published before booking opens.
Can I look around before signing up?
Yes. You can browse every activity, host and starting price without an account. You sign in when you're ready to request a time.
